What are Peer Groups?
Peer Groups are a space for members to build a network of peers around a shared interest. It is an open forum to connect, exchange thoughts and ideas, request guidance and share lessons learned, and receive insights from other female leaders. Through these, members will be able to provide a diversity of experience-based viewpoints while creating community and a unique networking experience.
Peer Groups can virtually meet monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly depending on the topic/interest.
These session are hosted by members of the Athena community who have related experience to the topic and are interested in playing a key role in these discussions. Athena Member Success Managers facilitate and manage logistics for the groups to ensure a smooth process and experience for the host and involved members.
Peer Groups use 'Chatham House rules': they are never recorded and are a safe space to connect without judgement.
The topic of each session is decided by members of the group or the host. Every session is different and the details are not shared en masse on the Athena calendar, so be sure to show up for every session!
How to sign up?
To view upcoming Peer Groups navigate to the 'Content' menu and select 'Upcoming Events'. Here you'll be able to view our Calendar of all upcoming events. To specifically view upcoming topics and session times for Peer Groups, use the filter bar at the top of the screen.
When you find a session you'd like to join, click the RSVP button (a green box that shows you as attending will appear in place of the RSVP button). Don’t forget to immediately add the event to your own calendar (option will appear once you RSVP).
*Pro Tip: If you are interested in a Peer Group but cannot make the next session, RSVP anyways! This will add you to the mailing list, which will send out information and updates for upcoming sessions for the same Peer Group. This way, you'll always be informed of any new activity in the group.
Time Commitment
Each Peer Group session is 1 hour long. Sessions are held monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly, depending on the topic and host. Participants can choose to join every session or join whenever they can.
How often are new Peer Groups created?
The Athena team reviews all Peer Groups on a quarterly basis to ensure we are able to meet member demands and continue our level of high value service.
